Picture a mosaic — one of those works of art made of hundreds of little tiles. Up close, each piece is just a fragment of color. But step back, and all those pieces come together to reveal something beautiful and whole. That’s the Bible.

Every book, from Genesis to Revelation, is one tile. Each has its own purpose and its own voice, but none of them stands totally alone. They’re all part of one big picture: God’s relationship with people, and His plan to rescue us. So when you study a passage, remember it’s connected to everything around it. The themes you spot in the Old Testament show up again in the New. The promises made early on get fulfilled later. It’s all woven together.

That’s why context matters so much. To really understand a passage, you’ve got to know a little about where it came from — the history behind it, the culture it was written in, the kind of writing it is. When we skip the context, it’s easy to misread Scripture or miss the depth of what God is actually saying. But when we lean into it, the Bible opens up, and we start to see just how rich and intentional the whole picture really is.
