In 1969 Peggy Lee sang a song called “Is that all there is?”—it was a big hit back then. It’s a big question, asked by so many over the centuries. What is the meaning of life? People ask themselves: Why am I here? What’s life all about? What’s the purpose of my existence? The lyrics of the song went like this:
Is that all there is?
Is that all there is?
If that is all there is, my friends
Then let’s keep dancing
Let’s bring out the booze and have a ball
If that’s all there is
Pastor Rick reminds us that Peggy Lee wasn't the first one to ask that question as God's servant Job asked the same question about 4,000 years earlier.
