Hey church family. I wonder, what’s keeping you up at night? Is it the Pandemic? Is it Family matters? Is it The economy? Fast Company magazine suggested several unique ways to rid yourself of worry. They include changing your bedtime. . .   Smelling a grapefruit. . . And engaging in forest therapy. These strange suggestions have one thing in common—they each try to take your mind off of your worries. There’s a better, a spiritual answer to worry.

God gives us a great treatment for worry in Matthew 6:33-34. He says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry… " (Matthew 6:33-34).

If you were with us for worship this past weekend, you’ll remember that in our study of Psalm 23 we looked at verse 1 that says, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."

When it comes to your wants, your needs, and your desires. . . We saw that . . . The key to meeting your Needs isn’t found in Pursuing your Needs, but in Pursuing God.

God says seek Him first. Focus your attention on worshipping the God who made you, loves you, and cares for you, and these other things that you’re worried about will be taken care of by him. The more time we spend with God, the more trusting we become toward Him, and the less worried we become about the circumstances around us.

When it comes to the circumstances of life, we can PANIC or We can PRAY. I like the way that the Living Bible translates Philippians 4:6-7. It says, "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus." If you make prayer a priority, you’ll have no room for worry.
