Connecting in Community

Most of us have friends like the one in this story: they will stand by our side in the good times, but at the first sign of trouble, they take off running – and in the process, leave us for the “bears”! But that’s not what genuine friendship is about. The wisest man who ever lived wrote these words: “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Did you notice how the text focuses on the importance of friendship in hard times? Most of us want friends like the one described in this passage – a friend who will stick around when the going gets tough. This sermon, we’re continuing our “Stepping Out In Faith” series and looking at “Connecting in Community” and what the Bible says about our need for one another. I hope you can join us.
