The Devil Made Me Do It!

The Devil Made Me Do It!

Have you ever heard someone say, “The devil made me do it”?

That statement is a lie. The devil can’t make you do anything if you’re a Christian because you have the power of Jesus Christ and the Word of God to help you do right when you’re tempted. This weekend we’ll begin a new teaching series in which we’ll be looking at the one that that Bible identifies as the tempter, accuser, destroyer and deceiver.

If you were to ask me “What is the greatest deception of the devil?”  I would say the greatest trick the devil ever pulled off is convincing so many people that he does not exist. The devil is real, and he is not some little guy in a red suit with a tail and a pitchfork and horns. There is a spiritual battle going on every single day between the forces of good and the forces of evil.

Martin Luther had it right when he wrote his hymn that says:

For still our ancient foe
Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great,
And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.

Every Christian is in a real spiritual war, a life‑and‑death conflict with a vicious enemy and that war is real whether we realize it or not. I hope you can join us this weekend as we begin our new series by looking at “The Strategy Of Satan” and learn together how we can detect and defeat him.

Embracing the journey,

Pastor Rick
